It is with great sadness that I have to report the death of possibly your oldest non-playing member of Petersfield Cricket Club.
My father, Derek Whitehorn, slipped away quietly on Monday 9th October.
He was a reasonably regular attender at the cricket ground and usually parked his blue mobility scooter in the sunshine somewhere near the nets. I would be most grateful if you would pass my heartfelt thanks to all your club members who were so very kind to him in his final years – whether it was pointing him gently towards the gents facilities in the pavilion or fixing him up with a mug of tea and some sandwiches a tea time. They made his final years in Petersfield memorable for all the right reasons.
Thank you all at the Petersfield Cricket Club for your kindness.
